Take Control of a Plane

During your discovery flight lesson, you'll receive a brief overview of the airplane, its controls and what to expect during your flight.

You'll have an opportunity to experience controlling the airplane alongside your instructor.  Depending on the type of flight you choose,  it will last approximately 30-60 minutes.  

This is not a scenic flight.  This is an intro flight lesson to give you a glimpse of what flying a plane is like.

• Ask your instructor any questions you might have, including next steps towards obtaining your private pilot certificate, career in aviation, etc.  
• Receive your first flight logbook entry, which will count towards your private pilot certificate.
• Derive a plan towards your private pilot certificate and schedule your next lesson.
• Receive 10% discount on your first 5 lessons if you book them at the time of your discovery flight
  • All 5 lessons need to be scheduled at the time of your discovery flight
  • All 5 lessons need to be completed within 30 days of your discovery flight
  • Any lesson that is rescheduled not due to weather will forfeit the 10% discount on that lesson
  • Only instructor can reschedule lessons due to weather
    • The target weather for your first 5 lessons is wind below 10 kts and cloud ceiling at 4000’ or above

• Discovery Flight - Simulated: $100
  • Try out flying on our state of the art flight simulator without the intensity of actually being up in the air
  • 1 hour flight lesson on our flight simulator with our FAA certified flight instructor
• Discovery Flight - Basic: $150
  • 30-minute flight lesson, including brief taxiing
  • Up to 2 people can join you as observers, for additional $25 each
• Discovery Flight - Premium: $200 
  • A 45-minute flight lesson on our flight simulator
  • A 45-minute intro flight lesson on our Cessna 172 aircraft, where you get to practice the skills you've learned on the flight simulator
• Discovery Flight - Cross Country: $250
  • Flight lesson with a landing at a different local airport and back  
  • Includes one observer ride (rear seat, weight restrictions apply)
